The Water-Wise Village Challenge promotes turning off sprinkler systems between October 15 and April 15. All residents of The Woodlands are invited to participate in the challenge. Each pledge - limited to one per household - will earn a contest point for the resident's village. The villages that collect the most points will receive a donation to their scholarship fund. Pledges made before November 15, 2016, earn double points for your village.
Or, submit your pledge at Woodlands Landscaping Solutions on September 24, 2016, or 3R Bazaar on November 12, 2016, and receive a gift for signing the pledge at the event. (Note: Both events are held at the ENvironmental Services Department office location.)
Or, submit your pledge to your participating Village Association.
Receive a FREE yard sign, "This Yard is Helping to Conserve Our Water Supply," once you pledge.
Refer two of your neighbors and, when they also pledge by the deadline, you will receive a great gift.
After submitting the pledge, the water conservation yard sign and your referral gift will be available for pick up at the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Services facility at 8203 Millennium Forest Drive.
Did you know? Turning your sprinkler off to conserve water during winter benefits your landscape.
St. Augustine grass - widely used in The Woodlands - goes dormant during winter and does not require irrigation.
Watering lawns in winter contributes to fungus disease and shallow root development.
Overuse of water in the landscape wastes a limited resource - freshwater!
