Water-Wise Village Challenge

Take the Pledge to Conserve Water!

The winter Water-Wise Village Challenge encourages residents to turn off the sprinkler system between December and April. All residents of The Woodlands are invited to participate in the challenge. Each pledge--limited to one per household--will earn a contest point for the resident's village.
  1. How it Works
  • Submit your pledge during the scheduled timeframe:
    • Submit your pledge online
    • Submit your pledge at the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Services Facility during regular office hours.
    • Submit your pledge to your participating Village Association.
  • Receive a FREE yard sign, This Yard is Helping to Conserve Our Water Supply, with your pledge.
    • After submitting the pledge, the water conservation yard sign will be available for pick up at the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Services facility at  8203 Millennium Forest Drive.
Did you know? Turning your sprinkler off to conserve water during winter benefits your landscape.
  • St. Augustine grass--widely used in The Woodlands--goes dormant during winter and does not require irrigation.
  • Watering lawns in winter contributes to fungus disease and shallow root development.
  • Overuse of water in the landscape wastes a limited resource--freshwater!
