THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (March 6, 2014) – The Woodlands Township is pleased to announce a three-year title sponsorship of the Muddy Trails Bash by The Woodlands Financial Group (TWFG), a national property/casualty insurance company based in The Woodlands that is fifth largest in the U.S. for personal property lines and has more than 300 retail branches in 22 states and nearly 3,000 affiliations with independent agents in 38 states.
“TWFG is proud to support this great event in The Woodlands,” said Gordy Bunch, CEO of The Woodlands Financial Group. “The Woodlands is a very active lifestyle community, and this is an opportunity for our residents to have fun and strive for a healthy lifestyle at the same time. There are all kinds of different options of runs in this event which makes it very appealing for our residents, their friends and visitors.”
Join TWFG and The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department for the seventh annual Muddy Trails Bash on April 5, 2014, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Rob Fleming Park. The event features a 5K and 10K run plus a Little Muddy Kids one-mile fun run and a 2K-9 fun run so that the family dog can participate, too. The post-race party will include crawfish plates, a crawfish cookoff and live Zydeco music plus activities for children. Concessions will be available.
The race courses will wind through the beautiful George Mitchell Nature Preserve, located on 1,800 acres adjacent to Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park. The chip-timed races (5K and 10K) are recommended for participants ages 10 and older. The Little Muddy Kids' One-Mile Fun Run is recommended for children ages 5 and up. There is also a 2K-9 fun run to do with your dog! Weather conditions in Houston during April vary, so participants should train accordingly.
More than 1,500 participants are expected in the various races plus an estimated 3,000 spectators, according to race planners. In addition, the post-race party will include a kids zone and live music and the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cookoff. All participants receive a Muddy Trails medal and a commemorative T-shirt.
