The Woodlands Township holds Board meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (April 17, 2014) – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a regular Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, at 9 a.m. The entire meeting can be watched on video at The Woodlands Township website (www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov) The following actions were taken.

During the meeting, the Board addressed the following items on the consent agenda:


• Received Administrative Reports for Law Enforcement and Community Policing for April 2014;

• Received Administrative Reports for The Woodlands Fire Department and Community Services for April 2014;

• Received a Third Amendment to the Town Green Park Veteran's Memorial Construction and Donation Agreement for The Way Home sculpture;

• Received a Special Event Permit application for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Walk;

• Received a Special Event Permit for the Red, Hot & Blue Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza;

• Received award of bid for playground equipment- Bethany Bend, Creekwood, Lehigh Springs, Northway and Sundance Parks;

• Awarded a Proclamation for National Police Week 2014;

• Adopted a Proclamation for Bike The Woodlands Day;

• Awarded bid for heating, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) replacement;

• Awarded bid for Neighborhood Entry Monument Sign Replacement;

On the regular agenda, the Board:

• Received and accepted a presentation on The Woodlands Marathon;

• Received and accepted an update from The Woodlands Waterway Marriott's General Manager regarding Convention Center activities; #1 in western region;

• Received and accepted a quarterly update from The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau;

• Received and accepted an update on The Woodlands Township Transit Plan and South Montgomery County Mobility Study;

• Received and accepted an update regarding traffic impacts to The Woodlands Township as a result of the San Jacinto River Authority construction plans for the Groundwater Reduction Plan;

• Received and accepted an update regarding Montgomery County flood plain maps;

• Tabled matters related to The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau reserve funds until budget retreat in July;

• Rejected approval of a Residential Survey proposal and voted to narrow the selection to three finalists and to request additional information;

• Tabled discussion of the installation of sportsfield lighting at select village parks;
