THE WOODLANDS, TX (July 18, 2014) – The Woodlands is the place to celebrate Labor Day Weekend with fireworks, live music, strolling entertainers and more Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 6 – 9 p.m. in Waterway Square.
The fun begins as singer and songwriter Holly Hicks takes the stage to perform her unique brand of Texas Country tunes from 6 p.m. – 7:20 p.m. followed by Parker McCollum, presenting a mix of Americana, Texas Country and rock, from 7:40 p.m. – 9 p.m. An amazing fireworks show as only The Woodlands can present will begin immediately after the second performance, weather permitting.
The Saturday celebration in The Woodlands also will include strolling entertainers, balloon artists, face painters and more for those of all ages.
The Saturday-only Labor Day event is free and open to the public. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are allowed.
Also on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, one of the world’s top amphitheaters, come be enchanted by DISNEY IN CONCERT Magical Music from the Movies with the Houston Symphony. Concertgoers will enjoy high definition projected clips from Disney’s iconic films. Every new generation has a favorite Disney musical, whether it’s “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pocahontas,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Aladdin,” or “The Lion King.” Tickets are $15 for orchestra seating. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free courtesy of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Huntsman and Woodforest National Bank. Tickets are not required for free seating. When everyone joins together for memorable moments and melodies that Mouseketeers of all ages know by heart, it feels like a small world, after all. Pre-concert activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 8:00 p.m.
On Sunday, August 31, 2014, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will host two iconic classic rock bands – Def Leppard and Kiss. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. concert. For tickets and more information, go to www.woodlandscenter.org.
Parking for the Saturday-only Labor Day celebration is available in the Waterway Square Parking Garage (between Fountain Plaza and Woodloch Court) and the 24 Waterway Parking Garage (corner of Fountain Plaza and Lake Robbins Drive).
