The Woodlands Township holds Board meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (July 24, 2014) – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a regular Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, at 6 p.m. The entire meeting can be watched on video at The Woodlands Township website (www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov).

Following the pledge of allegiance, public comment and reports from village associations, the Board approved the following items on the consent agenda:

  • Approved a temporary construction easement to the SJRA for construction of a ground storage tank;
  • Called a Directors Election to be held on November 4, 2014 and determining the procedure of giving notice of same (referred to Supplemental Agenda);

On the regular agenda, the Board:

  • Tabled a recommendation from the Ad Hoc Transportation Committee regarding Proposition 1;
  • Accepted the Financial Report;
  • Accepted a Law Enforcement Quarterly Update;
  • Received an update on The Woodlands Township Transit Plan and South Montgomery County Mobility Study;
  • Received a report from San Jacinto River Authority regarding the status of a fault line and its potential impact on the GRP pipeline;
  • Approved a recommendation by the Ad Hoc Transportation Committee to support Conroe/The Friendship Center/The Woodlands grant application for new buses and sharing of the local match not to exceed $20,000;
  • Approved issuance of the Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction costs for WFD Station #2;
  • Tabled a recommendation by the Ad Hoc Transportation Committee to appoint Director Mike Bass to serve on The Woodlands Road Utility District (WRUD) #1 Board of Directors; This item was tabled to the next meeting, excluding Budget Workshops.
  • Approved a revised presentation of 40th Anniversary/Founder’s Day activities;
  • Approved a resolution regarding the President/General Manager's authorization limits for commitments and agreements;
  • Received a report on procurement matters;
  • Received a presentation on employee retirement plan design changes regarding loan provisions and allowable employee investment options; the Board decided to stay with the current policy—no changes were made.
  • Received a quarterly update from The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau;
