What is National Night Out? National Night Out is when America gives neighborhood crime and drugs a going-away party. It’s a time to get out and get to know your neighbors and local public safety officials. Neighbor knowing neighbor is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime in your neighborhood, and National Night Out is a great way to get together. The Woodlands has celebrated National Night Out since 1990 and has many awards to show for it. The Woodlands has placed in the top 10 for the population category 50,000 - 99,999 17 times, six of those times being first place. The Woodlands now competes in the population category of 100,000 and more and finished 5th in 2013! Early Bird Registration
Residents who register their National Night Out party by Tuesday, September 16, 2014, will have their name entered in a drawing for a chance to win free pizza and other prizes for their party. One winner will be chosen in each village.
Target Car Seat Check & Fingerprint Event
Certified technicians from Safe Kids and Texas Children’s Hospital will be on hand to check the installation of child car seats on Saturday, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Target Parking lot at Pinecroft Center. Residents are asked to bring the car seat, vehicle and vehicle owner’s manual. Also on hand will be MCSO K9 team Hap and Deputy Marshall, The Woodlands Fire Department and crime prevention information from Neighborhood Services, The Woodlands Watch.
Celebrate Public Safety with Concert in the Park

There will be a special presentation for the 30th anniversary of The Woodlands Watch. Our Public Safety agencies will be awarded with a plaque and a special gift will be given to current Woodlands Watch Coordinators. Residents can learn about the Woodlands Watch and the many tools and resources available for crime prevention.
Supply and Registration Day
Thursday, September 25, 2014, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. Woodlands Watch coordinators are encouraged to pick up handy supplies for their National Night Out party including balloons, giveaways, signs, crime prevention information and party ideas.
Community Safety Expo
Saturday, September 20, 2014 from noon to 3 p.m., at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive, 77380. Law enforcement and public safety agencies will gather for a celebration designed to promote involvement in crime prevention activities and strengthen police-community relationships. Demonstrations will include Law Enforcement K-9, Fire Department Safety, and much more.
Tuesday, October 7, 2014, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Residents of The Woodlands are encouraged to get to know their neighbors and participate in activities including food drives to benefit a local food pantry, theme party contests and playing I.D. the Burglar. Best efforts will be made to schedule a visit from a public safety agency to those neighborhoods that register their party.
