The Woodlands Township Board holds meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (October 19, 2018) – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard in The Woodlands, Texas.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:

  • Received Administrative Reports from Township departments.
  • Approved a Second Amendment of the Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Shenandoah for shared area services.
  • Approved an Interlocal Agreement with Montgomery County for annual funding of Precinct 3 Constable.
  • Approved an Interlocal Agreement with Montgomery County for annual funding of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Constable, Precinct 3 (Law Enforcement Investigative Services – Crimes Against Children/Safe Harbor Program).
  • Approved an Interlocal Agreement with Montgomery County for annual funding of the Justice of the Peace.
  • Approved a HIPPA Business Associate Agreement with Montgomery County Hospital District.
  • Accepted a recommendation from the Audit Committee regarding the Hotel Occupancy Tax Agreed-Upon Procedures Reports for the years ended December 31, 2015 and December 31, 2016.
  • Accepted a recommendation from the Audit Committee regarding the Convention Center Booking and Blocking Agreed-Upon Procedures Report for the year ended December 31, 2016.
  • Accepted a recommendation from the Audit Committee regarding the Convention Center Replacement Reserve Agreed-Upon Procedures Reports for the years ended December 31, 2015 and December 31, 2016.
  • Approved an agreement with Meals on Wheels Montgomery County, d/b/a Senior Rides, for the provision of limited eligibility demand-response transportation services for 2019.
  • Approved a Service Agreement with South Montgomery County YMCA.
  • Approved the annual Service Agreement with Visit The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.
  • Approved an annual Service Agreement with The Center for Houston’s Future.
  • Approved an annual Service Agreement with Leadership Montgomery County.
  • Approved an annual Service Agreement for Waterway Square Fountain Maintenance.
  • Approved the purchase of playground equipment for the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park.
  • Approved a conveyance of the band shell and boardwalk at Hughes Landing.

The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:

  • Approved annual Village Association service agreements.
  • Approved an annual Service Agreement with Interfaith of The Woodlands for senior transportation services.
  • Approved an annual report from The Woodlands Economic Development Partnership.
  • Approved the annual Service Agreement with The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership.
  • Tabled a Resolution in support of the Research Forest Drive and Grogan’s Mill Road underpass.
  • Took no action on Phases Three and Four of the Communication Towers project.
  • Approved grant applications to Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) for Pedestrian and Bicycle projects.
  • Tabled review of a grant application to the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) for a Park and Ride pilot program route to the Energy Corridor.
  • Accepted a report regarding The Woodlands Express Bus routes and schedules.
  • Deferred discussing policies pertaining to The Woodlands Express.
  • Approved a resolution adopting the Montgomery County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
  • Approved a request from the Ad Hoc Economic Development Committee for $10,000 in initial funding for naming and creative material development that could be used in signage, marketing and promotion for the proposed development of an Arts Designated Area.
  • Approved the Township Ad Hoc Economic Development Committee’s recommendation to defer consideration of any funding requests from the Events Admission Tax line item for 2019 and directed the committee to bring back criteria to the Board for consideration in future requests.
  • Authorized the Board Chairman to submit a letter to The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency and Municipal Utility Districts regarding elections, tax billing and meeting accessibility.
