Mike Bass grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Baylor University, graduating in 1965 with a BBA, majoring in Accounting. After he graduated from college, Mr. Bass moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. In 1968, he moved to the firm’s consulting practice. This consulting practice ultimately separated from Arthur Andersen and became one of the largest business consulting businesses in the world, Accenture. During this time, Mr. Bass also served for six years as an officer in the Army Reserve and National Guard. He left Accenture for a time, when he worked as the VP of Sales and Manufacturing for a large, mid-west stainless steel fabricator. Mr. Bass retired from Accenture in 2000 as a Senior Partner.

Mr. Bass and his wife, Georgie have been married since 1967. They have raised two sons who now also live in The Woodlands with their families. During the course of his career with Accenture, they have lived in New York, Singapore, Vancouver and Chicago (twice). They returned to the Clear Lake area in 1995, moving to The Woodlands in November 2008.

While living in the Clear Lake area, Mr. Bass served in various appointed and elected positions for his city: President of Economic Development Corporation (two years), City Council Member overseeing the economic development, financial functions and road improvement program (six years), formed and chaired the resident committee charged with building a community pool, and Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission (two years).

Since moving to The Woodlands, Mr. Bass has continued to seek ways to contribute to his community. He has served in the following roles: treasurer of the Sterling Ridge Village Association (2010 and 2011); volunteer at village events - Flea Market, Barbecue and Haunted House; Sterling Ridge Residential Design Review Committee (2010); Design Standards Committee (2010 to February 2012) and Kirkpatrick Glen Neighborhood Watch Coordinator (2008 to present).

Mr. and Mrs. Bass enjoy entertaining with friends, traveling, fishing and spending time with their family, especially their three grandchildren. Mr. Bass is an avid cook and gardener.
