Richard “Gordy” Bunch is a decorated U.S. Coast Guard veteran, a nominee for Entrepreneur of the Year in Houston; and founder, president, and CEO of The Woodlands Financial Group “TWFG.” The Woodlands Financial Group, which he began with $10,000 capital in The Woodlands in 2001, has grown in 10 short years to become the 15th largest personal lines insurance agency and one of the top 100 privately held agencies in the nation.

Mr. Bunch and his wife, Michelle, and their three young boys have been residents of The Woodlands since 1995. The Bunch family attends The Woodlands United Methodist Church and supports or contributes to the American Heart Association, eight years participating in the MS150 bike ride, South Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Interfaith of The Woodlands, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Coulson Tough Elementary School, South Montgomery County YMCA volunteer Coach, Texas Rush Volunteer Coach and Ironman Texas.
