
Deputy Chief of Operations, Wayne Walker has been in the fire service for 40 years. He began as a firefighter in the Air Force traveling to Vietnam and all around the world. He spent eight years in the Houston Fire Department, five years as a Captain at Conroe Fire Department and has spent the last 23 years of his fire career serving the community of The Woodlands, starting as Captain, working his way up to Deputy Chief. He is certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician and Advanced Instructor.
During his extensive emergency services career he has attended numerous professional schools, won various commendations with the Houston Fire Department as well as the United States Air Force, including a commendation for saving a life under extremely dangerous fire conditions. His fire service experience makes him an irreplaceable part of The Woodlands Fire Department, managing the Battalion Chiefs and firefighters through daily fire department operations. His direction and management skills on a day-to-day basis help keep things running smoothly within the department.
