Adopt-a-Path for your group
Anyone interested in keeping our community clean and green is welcome to join the Adopt-a-Path program.
Business employees, neighborhood, school groups and scout troops have all helped keep The Woodlands a beautiful place to live.

How to join
- Pick a favorite hike or bike path or park, or call the Environmental Services Department at 281-210-3900 to inquire where your help is needed most.
- Commit to clean-up and log your activity on the pathway at least once per quarter for one year. A clean-up includes the pathway and adjacent green space.
- Fill out a registration form and secure confirmation from Environmental Services.
- After you log your first activity (see below) we will order signage recognizing your group!
On clean-up day
- Trash grabbers are available for loan at our offices at 8203 Millennium Forest Dr. next to The Woodlands High School; please reserve at least five days in advance by calling 281-210-3900.
- Bring at least two bags (size will depend on need), one for trash and one for recyclables.
- Bring work gloves - one glove per person is adequate.
- Wear bright clothes, which are more visible on the bike path; safety vests may be checked out for small groups .
- Be alert to wildlife living along pathways; learn to recognize and avoid poison ivy; use caution, especially if children are in your group.
- Do not handle litter that could pose a health threat; call Environmental Services at 281-210-3900 as soon as possible.
- Take recyclables to the Recycling Center.
- Fill out the activity log - be sure to note the types of trash found (beverage containers, paper, glass, etc.).
- Notify the Environmental Services Department about evidence of criminal activity, illegal dumping or contraband.
