Seventh Annual CB & I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon
The
CB & I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon is set to take place Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Northshore Park. The triathlon begins at 7 a.m. As one of the premier multi-sport events in the region, CB & I TRI, produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department offers high-caliber competition, first-rate race management and a scenic course. The 2010 race will be a sanctioned USA Triathlon (USAT) event and will feature a field of 1,000 participants. Last years participants ranged from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes. This event has reached capacity and sold out registration in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

This event earned a Top 10 in the USAT South Midwest Region for Sprint Distance Triathlons in 2004 and was designated as the USAT South Midwest Region Sprint State Championships for 2007. The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring music, great food, beverages and door prizes.
Race Day Recycling
In 2008 and 2009, through efforts of coordinators, participants and volunteers, we were able to divert 90 and 82 percent of waste respectively on race day to recycling and compostable businesses. For this year's event, race organizers will continue to improve their environmental responsibility efforts by asking participants, spectators and volunteers to ride-share or carpool to the event.
