Thursday, July 3, 2014
Star-Spangled Salute
The holiday festivities begin on Thursday, July 3, 2014, with the Houston Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute, conducted by Michael Krajewski. The concert features a selection of patriotic favorites, American Classics, sing-alongs, and of course, Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” complete with cannons from atop the hill.  The concert begins at 8 p.m. at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and admission is FREE. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, July 4, 2014
Fourth of July Parade 
Wake up early on Friday July 4, 2014, put on your red, white and blue and get a prime viewing spot for the exciting South County Fourth of July Parade. The 1.3-mile parade begins and ends at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, and this year’s theme is “The Lone Star - Brightest of Them all.” The parade begins at 9 a.m., with marching bands, fire engines, clowns, horses and many exciting commercial floats. A tent will be set up in front of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for senior citizens and the physically challenged to obtain relief from the summer heat. Roads will be closed during the parade. Watch the parade live on July 4 as it is streamed via online webcast.
Splash Day
Stay cool at one of the 14 community pools in The Woodlands. All Woodlands pools are FREE for Splash Day on Friday, July 4, 2014, with Splash Day activities scheduled for noon to 4 p.m.

Concert in the Park--new location this year at Waterway Square
Pack a picnic and bring your lawn chairs to Waterway Square on Friday, July 4, 2014, for a FREE concert in the park. Enjoy an evening of great live music by KAOS & The Spicolis, beginning at 5:30 p.m., featuring patriotic activities. 

Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza 
Head to Town Green Park and along The Woodlands Waterway® for the 17th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival on Friday, July 4, 2014, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Bring your family and friends for a festival filled with live music, face painting, strolling performers, children's activities, H-E-B hot dog and watermelon eating contests, vendor booths, concessions and much more! Coolers are not allowed inside Town Green Park for the Red, Hot & Blue Festival.

The Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by BBVA Compass, will begin at dusk (approximately at 9:10 p.m.) and will be launched from Town Green Park and Waterway Square!
Festival Fireworks Map with Viewing Locations
Best viewing will be at Town Green Park, Waterway Square and along The Woodlands Waterway®. This new location makes for more expanded parking and new viewing spots. Complete details can be found here and a full map of fireworks viewing can be found here.

The Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza are brought to you in part by The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau, Strike, Dr. Ray McLendon's Clear Choice Orthodontic Associates and BBVA Compass.

Attendees should note that viewing locations from previous years will not be available in 2014 due to the new launch locations; including Northshore Park, Southshore Park, viewing points along The Woodlands’ golf courses, Lamar Elementary, The Woodlands Mall, Market Street and all areas east of Interstate 45.

Road Closure
Waterway Square Place will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on July 4 and will remain closed through 12 a.m. on July 5. The Waterway Square Place road closure will start at the intersection of Waterway Avenue and extend to Fountain Plaza. Access to the Waterway Square Parking Garage will be open on both east and west entrances.
