The Environmental Services Department actively promotes preserving the natural environment. Providing tips and resources for healthy, sustainable living, the Department coordinates:

• Adopt a Pathway 
• A Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture Series 
• Earth Day
• Mosquito surveillance
• Recycling events

• The Woodlands Landscaping Solutions 
• Walk to School program 

Environmental Services also monitors the contract with Waste Management, providing an integrated residential solid waste plan for the community. Services include once-per-week curbside collection of garbage, recyclables and yard waste.

In addition, the Department oversees The Woodland Recycling Center, located on Research Forest Drive, and the Community Gardens at Bear Branch Sportsfields.
