Township Safety Protocols

Township COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Township facilities open, important safety protocols announced

Updated March 10, 2021 --  Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-34 took effect on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, no longer requiring business occupancy limits and eliminating a statewide mask mandate unless a county is experiencing “high hospitalizations” as defined in the Order.

The Woodlands Township buildings and recreational facilities have been in operation using safety protocols for its employees and visitors due to COVID-19.

The Woodlands Township will continue to require face coverings at Township facilities or participation of Township programs or events, including meetings at Town Hall and programs and services at boat houses, adventure courses, and recreational centers.

The CDC, state and local health officials strongly advise the use of masks or facial coverings in public spaces as a proven way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Because the Township cares about the health and safety of its patrons, instructors and employees, the organization asks that participants comply with the facemask policy when visiting a recreation facility. Facemasks may be removed while actively engaged in physical exercise/activities where a distance of six feet from other individuals not associated with you can be maintained at all times.

All Township employees at all facilities are required to wear face coverings. Each facility has masks for guests and hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations in its restroom facilities.

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors are meeting in person with two scheduled meetings coming up on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 and Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Nothing in the Executive Order precludes businesses or other establishments, including the Township, from enforcing additional hygiene and safety measures.  That means the Township retains control over and may require pandemic mitigation measures on its property, in its facilities, and by its employees.  Accordingly, the Township will continue with its current protocols including:

  • Employees will continue to be required to wear face coverings in the public areas of Township facilities and maintain social distancing.
  • Temperature checks for employees will continue at all facilities where they are currently taking place.  If you are experiencing symptoms, you should stay home and notify your supervisor. It is important to promptly report any exposure, quarantining, isolation or testing to Human Resources.
  • Visitors to Township facilities will continue to be required to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.
  • Temperature checks for visitors entering Township facilities will continue.
The Township will continue to evaluate guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other sources and will re-assess internal protocols periodically.
