Emergency Services
The personnel of The Woodlands Fire Department work daily to meet the needs of the citizens of The Woodlands. To ensure that the Fire Department is capable and ready to meet the day-to-day challenges that impact our residents, we pride ourselves in our ability to respond to, and mitigate calls for help that involve fire, medical emergencies, hazardous materials and rescue services.
Functions
To ensure a timely response to emergencies and a high level of customer service, The Woodlands Fire Department maintains its own fire dispatching service. This well-trained group of professional dispatchers are on duty to serve the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The staff is trained to handle your calls for help, along with providing information on our community. They are a true asset to The Woodlands as they have an uncanny ability to provide needed information when you need it.

Functions
The Woodlands Fire Department personnel can provide paramedic-capable advanced life support services. With an average response time of 4.71 minutes, The Woodlands Fire Department emergency medical technicians (EMT) can be delivering the latest in emergency care to our residents and visitors to our community within minutes of being dispatched.

The Woodlands Fire Department staffs eight fire stations located strategically throughout the community. Staffing consists of:
- One Battalion Chief
- Five Engine Companies
- Four Ladder Companies

The Woodlands Fire Department has a 24-member, technician-level trained Hazardous Materials (Haz-Mat) Response Team. The base of operations for the team is Station 2, located on Gosling Road. This team responds not only to emergencies in our community, but also throughout portions of Montgomery County and Harris County when requested.
At this level of training, our firefighters are able to enter contaminated areas in protective gear for victim rescue and materials containment. As protecting the environment is a high priority for our community, our Haz-Mat Response Team trains constantly to ensure that they can deal with emergencies which may adversely effect our hometown.

All eight of The Woodlands Fire Department fire stations are equipped with hydraulic rescue tools that are needed to remove victims trapped in motor vehicle accidents.

Based out of Station 6, which is located at 1100 Windsor Lakes Blvd., The Woodlands Fire Department supports a Technical Rescue Team. The Team trains for:
- Collapse Rescue
- Confined-Space Rescue
- High-Angle Rescue
- Swiftwater rescue
- Trench Rescue
- Dive Rescue
Training Schedule
The Woodlands Fire Department maintains a training schedule that exceeds the State minimum requirements for fire protection personnel. With our firefighters providing a vast array of emergency services, the continuing education of these dedicated professionals is a high priority of the Department.
