3R Recycling Drive-Thru

A FREE opportunity to recycle select items that cannot be recycled in curbside carts.

We regret to inform you that the 3R Recycling Drive Thru Event, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023, has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Celebrate America Recycles Day at the 3R Recycling Drive-thru. This event celebrates the importance of recycling in our community and offers a free opportunity to recycle select items that cannot be recycled in curbside carts.


Free 1-Day Drive-thru Recycling


Bag or box items separately by category and place them in your trunk or back passenger side seat for safe access by volunteers. A volunteer will open the trunk, hatchback or rear side passenger door to remove items. Residents only, no businesses.

  • Lightbulbs - Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent (CFL) and LED light bulbs. No tube lights over 4 feet. Light bulbs must be intact, not broken.
  • Batteries - Alkaline AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V
  • Disposable Razors and packaging. See list of examples.
  • Eyeglasses, sunglasses and cases
  • Oral Care Products - Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers.
  • Small Electronics – One file box or paper shopping bag per vehicle. Laptops, tablets, cell phones and cords only. No TV’s or monitors. Proof of Woodlands address (Driver’s License or utility bill required).  
  • Snack & Drink Pouches - Any brand with straws and pouch lids.Example list.
  • Block Styrofoam - No food containers or cups
  • Textiles - Used clothing, shoes, linens, fabric scrap in any condition.
  • Election Signs & Stakes - Separate stakes from the signs
  • Bikes - In any condition. Bikes will be collected and refurbished in partnership with Bike The Woodlands Coalition and Recycled Cycles and then donated back to the community.



Please remember these items can only be recycled through special programs such as Terracycle or by a contractor and cannot be put in your curbside recycling cart.
 

Document Shredding will NOT be offered at this event. 
Document shredding will be available during the National Night Out event on October 21, 2023, 8 a.m. to noon at the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center.  Residents only, no businesses.
