Birding Joy: Birding for the Soul

Saturday, March 19, 2022

This class is designed for the true beginner.  Whether you just want to become more familiar with the birds that visit your backyard, or meet up with fellow birding enthusiasts, Joy provides you with the basic ID skills, tips, and suggested materials to get you started in the wonderful world of birding.  Participants will also learn about recent trends in the birding world, including Ornitherapy and Plirding (for those of you who love birds and hate litter).

Recommended for ages 12 and older. Birding Joy consists of an indoor and outdoor portion. Please dress appropriately for a short walk outdoors.

Registration required. Space is limited.

Joy KlumppJoy became a certified Texas Master Naturalist in 2013 to enhance her background in nature and wildlife while giving back to the community by way of volunteer service in public education and outreach opportunities. Joy is currently writing and producing her first podcast, “Birding Joy” as well as developing her own line of gourmet suet.  She has served as editor and contributor for her Master Naturalist Chapter as well as contributed articles for her neighborhood community newsletter. Joy is an advocate for wildlife conservation and a passionate birder.
