Residents invited to attend water conservation seminar May 13, 2017

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (April 13, 2017) – Residents are invited and encouraged to attend the upcoming free seminar, Smarter About Water, Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Woodlands Emergency Training Center, located at 16135 IH-45 South in The Woodlands, TX, 77385.

This program features local and regional water information specialists who will report on the community’s water data, the status of water sources, demands for water from expected population growth and share tips on how to conserve water.

The seminar will also feature workshops to educate residents on converting sprinkler systems to drip irrigation and installing rain barrels to irrigate landscapes. Native plant landscaping options and practical alternative irrigation methods will also be discussed.

The free seminar is made possible in part through the sponsorship of The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency, The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N., Nature’s Way Resources and Alspaugh’s ACE Hardware; Municipal District Services is also generously providing lunch for the attendees. As part of the program, rain barrels are available at a discounted price of $85 (only $42.50 with rebate for WJPA customers) for a limited time from The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N.
