The Woodlands Township Board holds Planning Session, Board Meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (May 19, 2017) – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a Planning Session and its regular meeting Thursday, May 18, 2017, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

The Planning Session began at 4 p.m. with discussions to start the 2018 Budget process. After the planning session adjourned, the Board of Directors began the regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:

  • Received and accepted the April 20, 2017, Regular Board Meeting Minutes and April 26, 2017, Regular Board Meeting Minutes for the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Township.
  • Received and accepted Administrative Reports for Community Services.
  • Received and accepted Administrative Reports for Law Enforcement and Community Policing.
  • Received and accepted Administrative Reports for Transportation (Park and Ride and Trolley System).
  • Received and accepted Administrative Reports for The Woodlands Fire Department.
  • Approved an award of bid to US Digital Designs for the purchase of fire station alerting equipment (C-2017-0299).
  • Approved an award of bid to GSI America Cleaning Services Inc. for Park and Ride Facilities Janitorial Services (C-2017-0164).
  • Approved an award of bid to BrightView for Park and Ride Facilities Landscape Maintenance Services (C-2017-0163).
  • Approved an award of bid to Millis Development and Construction, LLC. for the replacement of the Nature Trail Bridge in the Village of Grogan’s Mill (C-2017-0151).
  • Approved a proclamation in support of Food Allergy Awareness Week.

The Board of Directors then moved to the Regular Agenda:

  • Received and accepted an update on Law Enforcement from Captain Ronnie Glaze Harris County Constable Precinct 4 for the Village of Creekside Park.
  • Received and accepted a report on the 2017 The Woodlands Marathon.
  • Received and accepted a presentation on bicycle safety.
  • Received and accepted the financial report, January 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017.
  • Discussed the Montgomery Central Appraisal District election process, provided direction to staff and asked that additional information be presented at the June 28, 2017 meeting.
  • Discussed the Public Comment Policy (as requested by Director Rieser) and tabled any action until the June 28, 2017 meeting.

The Board of Directors had an Executive Session without an action item.

The Board of Directors will convene again at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, Texas 77381.
