Governor Abbott Proclamation: Additional Services and Activities That Can Open Under Phase II Governor Greg Abbott yesterday issued a proclamation expanding additional services and activities that can open under Phase II of the state’s plan to safely and strategically open. With this proclamation, water parks, recreational sport programs for adults, driver education programs, and food-court dining areas within shopping malls can begin operations with limited occupancy or regulations to protect the health and safety of Texans.

Montgomery County COVID-19 Case CountMontgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, is saddened to confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19. The first is a woman in her 50’s from Conroe. The second case is a woman in her 60’s from Conroe. Both were hospitalized when they died. We offer our condolences to both families at this time.
The number of ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 has decreased to 461 today. That number includes 26 hospitalizations. 439 people have fully recovered. The number of total positive cases has increased 13 since yesterday to 926.

The MCHD/MCPHD COVID-19 Call Center is open for residents needing COVID-19 testing through a voucher program, or for general questions, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Three COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites are now open in Montgomery County at Walmart locations provided below. These sites are supported by Walmart, eTrueNorth and state and local officials to test anyone who meets CDC and state and local guidelines on who should be tested, including first responders, health care providers and others with symptoms of COVID-19 and those in high risk groups without symptoms. Those interested in being tested need to visit www.DoINeedaCOVID19test.com to see if eligible for testing and to make an appointment.

Fourth of July Parade CancelledThe Township has learned that the South County 4th of July Committee and Market Street have announced the cancellation of the 44th Annual 4th of July Parade, "Stars & Stripes Forever" due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the potential of over 20,000 spectators and 200 volunteers gathering along the parade route through Town Center and Market Street, holding the parade would not be in the best interest of health and safety for the community.

The Woodlands Farmer’s Market Now Open Saturday Mornings from 8 a.m. to noonThe Woodlands Farmer’s Market re-opened May 23, 2020! Customers are encouraged to check the website, Facebook page or newsletter for definite details including phases in which the market will open, participating vendors, and best practices for visitors.
The market now has a different layout in order to promote social distancing for customers and vendors. Instead of having two aisles with the vendors facing each other, the vendors will be in a rectangle with the customers walking on the outside. There will be hand sanitizer stands and markers to help customers.
Open Stores at Market StreetSeveral retailers at Market Street are currently open, and more will be opening in the coming weeks. Market Street management notes that individual retailers may require a mask and additional safety requirements upon entry, so customers are encouraged to call ahead to verify hours and guidelines. Red Cross Family AssistanceThe American Red Cross has launched a Virtual Family Assistance Center (VFAC) to support families struggling with loss and grief due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Red Cross is here to provide compassion and support to families as they grieve.
