The Woodlands ranks first for driving safety

An analysis of 2018 data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Texas Department of Transportation recently found The Woodlands to be one of the safest cities in Texas to drive. The Woodlands tied with Allen, Texas, for first place. Austin-based driving education provider Aceable studied the 40 most populated cities in Texas, calculating which had the highest rate of fatal car accidents per 100,000 residents. READ ON

Residents invited to complete Bicycle Survey
The Woodlands Township invites residents of The Woodlands who ride bicycles to participate in an online survey about their experiences bicycling in the community. The Woodlands Township is currently a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community with the League of American Bicyclists and asking for input from local bicyclists in order to reapply for a new status in 2020. READ ON

Traffic Impact for The Woodlands Marathon

The annual Woodlands Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, and will impact traffic in and around The Woodlands from 6:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please plan ahead and use alternate routes as the streets along the race routes will have closures and contra-flow traffic to accommodate runners. Arts in the Park

The Spring Arts in the Park festival is set for Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rob Fleming Park, located at 6055 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands, TX 77389. This year the Youth Art Contest will return for young artists. Young artist submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 8, 2020, and the entry form can be found on the Township website. The Youth Art Contest is open to artists 18 years and under and includes three age categories: 7 years and younger, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years old.  READ ON
