Protect Yourself Against Mosquitoes 
The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed the first West Nile virus positive mosquito of the season in The Woodlands, located in the Village of Panther Creek. Montgomery County treated the affected area on June 6 and 8, 2020. Mosquitoes that carry West Nile virus are most active at dawn and dusk. Residents are encouraged to take protective measures, such as wearing long, loose, light-colored clothing and applying insect repellent. The Centers for Disease Control recommends repellents containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon-eucalyptus. Read On 

Prepare for Hurricane Season
Hurricane season is officially underway for 2020 and The Woodlands Township encourages residents to plan ahead and make preparations in case of a weather event.
Hurricane season officially began on June 1, 2020, and ends on November 30, 2020. Now is the time to sign up for Township alerts, make a plan and build your emergency kit. Read On

Township Spraygrounds Now Open
The Woodlands Township’s spraygrounds are now open for the 2020 season. The Township has five spraygrounds, also called splash pads, which are open for the season, from June 3 through October 31, 2020, operating 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. All Township spraygrounds utilize sanitized, chemically-treated water that is tested and monitored daily. Read On
