Board Budget Workshop

The Woodlands Township Begins Budget Meetings Electronically
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors began holding Budget Workshops 1 and 2 via video conference today at 8:30 a.m. and will continue tomorrow, August 4, 2020, at 8:30 a.m.

Chairman Bunch Discusses Supporting Businesses Responsibly

Board Encourages Residents to Support Local Businesses Responsibly
Township Chairman of the Board Gordy Bunch is encouraging residents to utilize the service of local restaurants that still offer take-out and catering options, as well as patronizing other local businesses, and doing so while wearing face coverings and observing social distancing and adhering to CDC guidelines.

Montgomery County COVID-19 Case Count Sees an Increase of 95 Positive Cases
Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, confirms two additional deaths related to COVID-19. A hospitalized man in his 20s from Conroe has died. No co-morbidities have been noted in his case. A woman in her 80s from Montgomery has also died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
 
The following is also confirmed:

  • TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 95 to 6,291 since Friday’s report.
  • ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 95 to 2,316 since Friday’s report.
  • 65 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
  • 3,734 people have clinically recovered.

  • Disinfect surfaces in your car and around your home.

 
The Public Health Department’s system is still undergoing maintenance, and updates to the case-by-case list will not be available until further notice. Testing in Montgomery County
Just a reminder, online registration is now available for COVID-19 testing through the MCPHD/MCHD voucher program. Click on “Need to be tested?” on mchd-tx.org or mcphd-tx.org and follow the instructions. The COVID-19 Call Center’s number is 936-523-3916. It is open Monday-Friday 8a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Harris County COVID-19 Case Count
 Harris County Public Health (HCPH) publishes their daily case count, combined with the City of Houston's daily case count, here. Cases by zip code in Harris County can be found by clicking on areas of the map.
 
The Village of Creekside Park is located in two zip codes: 77375 and 77389, and these also include Magnolia, Augusta Pines/Auburn Lakes/West Rayford Road in northwest Harris County. Today, Harris County is reporting zip code 77375 has 516 confirmed positive cases with 216 active cases, and 77389 has 268 confirmed positive cases with 67 active cases.

Hand Sanitizer Warning from the FDA

FDA Urges Consumers Not to Use Certain Hand Sanitizer Products
The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers and health care providers that the agency has seen a sharp increase in hand sanitizer products that are labeled to contain ethanol (also known as ethyl alcohol) but that have tested positive for methanol contamination. Methanol, or wood alcohol, is a substance that can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested and can be life-threatening when ingested.

Local School Districts Reopening Plans

  • Conroe ISD will begin the school year on August 12, 2020, with ALL students in remote/online instruction only. Traditional in-person instruction is scheduled to begin no earlier than September 8, 2020. Read the full message from Dr. Null | Roadmap to Reopening

  • Magnolia ISD will start on August 12, 2020 with ALL students receiving instruction online through Labor Day. Planning for the 2020-2021 School Year

  • Tomball ISD will start the school year on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 with ALL students in remote/virtual instruction only. Return to Excellence – Reopening 2020

  • The John Cooper School

    Lower School – Students will return to campus in small groups on August 13 and 14, 2020 for a safer first entry. Online learning option remains available and will begin on August 17.
