Effective today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced new visitation guidance for eligible nursing homes, assisted living facilities, intermediate care facilities, home and community-based service providers, and inpatient hospice. Under the new rules, residents will be allowed to designate up to two essential family caregivers who will be provided necessary training to allow them to safely go inside a facility for a scheduled visit, including in the resident’s room, to help ensure their loved one’s physical, social, and emotional needs are being met. Designated caregivers will not be required to maintain physical distancing, but only one caregiver can visit a resident at a time. Read more information.

Texas Reopens - Staying Safe in Public

Staying Safe while Socializing Outside
Enjoying time outdoors can improve your physical and mental health. Remember to take safety precautions like wearing a mask and social distancing to protect yourself and others. Socializing with people outside of your household increases your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Keep outside gatherings small. Be sure to check your area’s recommended group size. Do not share food, utensils, or beverages. Keep your hands clean, wear face coverings and stay 6 feet/2 meters apart from other groups.
