Township issues reminders during COVID surge
During the current nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, particularly the Delta variant, the Township reminds residents to stay safe and well and to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
COUNTY NEWS
Montgomery County Public Health Department confirms high levels of active COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County.
Today, Montgomery County confirms three additional deaths related to COVID-19. - A man in his 20s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19. He was not vaccinated.
- A man in his 30s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. There were no co-morbidities noted in his medical records. He was not vaccinated.
- A woman in her 70s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19. She was fully vaccinated.
Montgomery County also confirms: - TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 1,043 to 81,448 since Monday’s (9/13) report.
- Of the 1,043 new cases, 203 are under the age of 12 and not eligible for vaccination.
- ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 163 to 12,944 since Monday’s (9/13) report.
- Today, we accounted for 866 additional inactive cases who we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more.
- 361 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
- 32,107 people have clinically recovered. This number was not updated today due to a database issue.
The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County has decreased to 19%, down from 20% on Monday. |

SETRAC data as of September 15, 2021 reports that: - 163 of the 174 operational ICU beds are occupied in Montgomery County.
58.9 percent of the beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients. - 1,088 of the 1,275 General Use beds in Montgomery County are occupied.
24.6 percent of the General Use beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients. - There were 32 new COVID admissions in the past 24 hours.

COVID-19 VACCINATION AVAILABILITY
COVID-19 vaccines are widely available locally at hospitals, healthcare provider offices, pharmacies and retailers. To find a vaccine near you, please visit www.vaccines.gov/search/. Here you can search based on zip code and vaccine preference (Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson). Texans can also register online at GetTheVaccine.dshs.texas.gov. You will be notified by email or text when and where to get the vaccine.
The FDA recently gave full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which will be marketed as Comirnaty, for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. |

GET YOUR FLU SHOT
Flu season is quickly approaching. By getting vaccinated against the flu viruses, hospitalizations and deaths can be reduced this fall and winter, which can in turn help reduce the burden on the medical system and save medical resources for the care of COVID-19 patients. Please ask your healthcare providers about vaccine availability. If you don’t have a health care professional you regularly see, you can find flu vaccines at many places, including health departments and pharmacies. Read more.
COVID TESTING
The Woodlands Township is a host location for COVID-19 testing provided by Curative, Inc. Testing takes place seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Township offers free testing through Curative at three locations. Please note, testing is no longer offered at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

The Delta variant causes more infections and spreads faster than early forms of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The Delta variant is highly contagious, more than 2x as contagious as previous variants. Some data suggest the Delta variant might cause more severe illness than previous variants in unvaccinated people. Read more.
Help Reduce the Spread of COVID-19
Current advice from the CDC includes wearing a mask indoors in public and crowded spaces in areas of high transmission for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Vaccines remain the most effective way to reduce spread of COVID-19 and prevent serious illness. Read more.
