Township Cancels Portions of Lighting of the Doves

The Woodlands Township has been closely monitoring the forecast in consultation with local weather experts for the 40th Annual Lighting of the Doves on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Due to the likelihood of heavy precipitation, which poses safety and other concerns for volunteers, vendors and performers, activities have been cancelled with the exception of Santa's arrival, Lighting of the Doves and fireworks which are set to begin at 7 p.m.  READ MORE

Township Enters into Agreement for Expansion at The Woodlands Mall

The Boards of Directors of The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone (EDZ) each approved entering into an Economic Development Agreement with The Woodlands Mall Associates, LLC, for the redevelopment of a portion of The Woodlands Mall. The agreement was reached during a joint special meeting of the Township and EDZ, held on November 16, 2022. READ MORE

Skate into the Season at The Ice Rink

The Woodlands Township invites residents and visitors alike to enjoy the Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center this holiday season. The rink opens for the season on Friday, November 18, 2022. The 21,000-square-foot permanent multipurpose facility features ice skating in the main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties, and concessions. No Waste Collection on Thanksgiving Day

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, The Woodlands Township reminds residents that there will be no trash and recycling services on November 24, 2022.  Curbside service will resume on Friday, November 25, 2022. Households with standard Thursday or Friday service will receive service the following day, including Saturday. These schedule changes impact all collections – trash, recycling, yard trimmings, and bulk pickup. The standard service schedule will resume on Monday, November 28, 2022. READ MORE

Township Closed for the Holiday

The Woodlands Township offices, Recreation Centers and Lakes Edge Boat House will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2022, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please note, The Ice Rink, Boat Houses and Texas TreeVentures will observe the following schedules:

• The Ice Rink: Open Thanksgiving Day, 1 to 9 p.m., open 3 to 11 p.m. on Friday 
• Texas TreeVentures: Closed Thanksgiving Day, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday
• Riva Row Boat House: Closed Thanksgiving Day, open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday
