Township holds final budget workshop, approves proposed property tax rate

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its final budget workshop Thursday, August 16, 2018, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard. One of the key decisions was recommending a proposed ad valorem tax rate of 22.73 cents per $100 of taxable property value. The proposed rate is lower than the current rate of 23 cents. READ ON

The Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, August 22, at 4 p.m. The meeting will be followed by a Planning Session at 6 p.m. The Board will meet at the Township Town Hall and the public is invited to attend. READ ON

Incorporation Planning Study Public Forum

The Board of Directors invites all interested residents to an Incorporation Planning Study Public Forum on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. The Woodlands Township Incorporation Study consultants will provide a recap of studies to date such as the best practices analysis, law enforcement analysis, street condition analysis, a review of municipal utility district (MUD) operations and public feedback received to date. Township launches mobile ticketing for The Woodlands Express Park and Ride

The Woodlands Township has launched a mobile ticketing app for riders of The Woodlands Express Park and Ride bus service, a technology-based alternative to traditional paper tickets. Tickets can now be bought anytime, anywhere, using the new smartphone app. Riders then display their tickets on screen when boarding the bus. Paper tickets will be honored for the foreseeable future. Scams and ID Theft Presentation

The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch invites you to learn about Identity Theft and Scams on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the South County Public Library, 2101 Lake Robbins Drive. Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will provide information about identity theft and scams, warning signs, how to monitor your credit and what to do if you are a victim. READ ON
