Incorporation Updates

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors has voted to approve transition agreements with Montgomery County regarding law enforcement services in the event of incorporation in the future. The Board reviewed and discussed the agreements during the Board meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

The approved transition agreements provide for the first three years of law enforcement services after incorporation. Currently, the Township pays for law enforcement services  provided by Montgomery and Harris Counties. The agreements continue existing services with Montgomery County law enforcement and give the Township a multi-year window to plan and budget for an internal police force, if needed.
