Yes. The Post-Race Party will provide athletes with crawfish plates, an alternative food item, drink and Zydeco music. Spectator concessions will be available for purchase. Participants and attendees are encouraged to visit the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off area to sample each team's crawfish and vote for their favorite team at The Woodlands Township tent.

USA Track & Field Sanction is a designation issued by USATF, through a local Association, which approves and licenses the holding of a competitive track and field, long distance running or race walking event in the United States. Only USTAF Sanctioned Events are eligible for National and World Records. Muddy Trails 5K follows all rules set forth by USATF for this type of running event.
This year's event is anticipated to attract 450 5K race participants and approximately 2,500 attendees throughout the afternoon.
The start and finish lines are a great place to cheer on your favorite runner, and watch other participants as they cross the finish line. Spectators must be mindful of vehicular traffic and participants along the course. See maps for details.
The Woodlands Township's races offer participants of all levels and abilities both beginner-friendly and high-caliber competition. Majority of race participants do not enter the events to win, but to set and achieve a personal goal. The Township's Signature Races benefit and help fund programs and services offered through the Parks and Recreation Department through program scholarships and promotion of other not-for-profit groups. Muddy Trails 5K and Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off kicks off the Township's Signature Race Events, which also includes events in April, May and October.

Race management monitors the weather closely in the weeks and days leading up to the race. As safety is paramount for this race, staff will be following a comprehensive race contingency plan. This plan includes alternative options in the event weather or other issues impact the race or race course, and modification of the event is necessary to maintain participant safety and/or road opening times. Race modifications may include but are not limited to delay of race start time, shortening of race course(s), or cancellation of the event.
100% of your entry fee will be refunded until the specified deadline. We have a "no refund policy" in regards to weather cancellations of any kind as well as changes to the race after registration. Unforeseen changes can occur at any time no matter how finalized anything seems to be. Any changes made to the race are done after careful consideration, usually due to safety concerns that arise after the race has been planned. We do everything we can to create a better, safer, more enjoyable experience for all participants. Entry fees are not transferable between years. No exceptions will be made to this policy. Transfers must be completed by the specified deadline.
If you’re caught racing in someone else’s number, you will be blacklisted and not be able to race our races and possibly others for a lengthy period of time. DON’T RISK IT!
All participants will receive a race bib at packet pickup, as well as post-race food and beverages and a finisher's medal upon crossing the finish line.

No. Participants will need to remove all existing chips, D-tags or bib tags from previous races to avoid potential timing issues.

If you are picking up your packet on Race Day, it is recommended to arrive an hour early in case of lines. Otherwise, no later than 45 minutes prior to your race start typically provides enough time to warm up, stretch and/or visit the restrooms. Please see our Event Schedule for details. NOTE - Only participants who registered and paid for Race Day Packet Pickup may do so. There is an additional fee for Race Day Packet Pickup.
This will depend on your personal needs. All participants must bring their race bib, which must be visibly worn. Recommended items include water bottle, small pre-race snack, changes of clothes for after the race, recovery nutrition, endurance fuel such as Gu packets, race belt, hat/visor, sunglasses, sunscreen and/or rain/winter gear. Check the forecast to determine if you should dress up or down according to the current weather conditions.
Headphones are permitted, but are STRONGLY discouraged. Participants who choose to wear headphones must remain aware of race officials, traffic and other runners.
Pets are allowed at the post-race venue, but not on the course. Participants caught with a pet on the course will be disqualified.
Per USATF sanction and insurance requirements, strollers are not permitted on the course. For the comfort and safety of all participants, baby strollers, baby-joggers, in-line skating and bicycles are all prohibited on any course.
No. Any non-registered pacers will be stopped immediately, and the person they are pacing will be disqualified.
The Post-Race Party will take place at Rob Fleming Park. The Athlete Food Area will be located in the concessions windows near the stage. After getting your food and drinks, head to the park area to enjoy music, children's activities, the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off and to visit our sponsor booths. Race participants are provided complimentary crawfish plates. The Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off is free and open to the public. Cook-Off Teams will provide samples to the public for attendees to vote on their favorite crawfish in the following categories such as Best Decorated Tent, Best Cajun Dish, Best Crawfish -Judges' Choice and Best Crawfish - People's Choice.
