“The Way Home” Veterans Memorial Monument

This veterans memorial monument is modeled after Cory Kosters and Zachary Endsley, two residents of The Woodlands who bravely gave their lives in 2007 in defense of freedom. The monument was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, in honor of active duty personnel and veterans of all military branches and conflicts. It is located on the east side of Town Green Park, below Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The monument was sculpted by Edd Hayes.

The Walk of Honor is another part of the monument and is composed of black granite memorial tiles, educational information including maps and historical data of major wars since World War II and bronze military branch service emblems.

  • Dedicated to all active duty & veterans of all branches and all conflicts
  • The only one within Montgomery County
  •  Allows anyone to be a permanent part of the sculpture installation

The Woodlands Township anticipates engravings to happen at minimum once annually, in spring, prior to Memorial Day Weekend. If enough demand exists, then the Township may arrange for more frequent engravings.
