Simple Recycling is a for-profit recycler that is committed to offering residents the most simple and easy way to keep usable materials from the landfill.
It’s a new, free and easy way to recycle used clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, linens and other household items. This program is intended to keep items out of the landfill.
The bags are to be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. on the same day as trash and recycling; no sign-up or ordering is required. Simple Recycling will pick up the bags and leave replacements at the door.

Regional thrift stores and international markets purchase the wearable materials. The recycled material is sold to manufacturers to be turned into new products.

Simple Recycling is a for-profit company. There are a number of charitable organizations in The Woodlands area that accept textiles and other home goods. Consult The Woodlands Township Donation Guide for a list of these organizations, including those that will collect from your home. The Township still recommends that you donate first to a local charity before sending items to the curb for recycling.
Textiles comprise 5% of our total waste stream in The Woodlands. 85% of textiles are thrown away; only 15% are donated. This program helps divert those items that were headed for the landfill and allows them to be reused or recycled. There is no cost to the Township for this service. In fact, the Township receives a rebate of $20/ton of material collected, which is used to financially support other environmental programs administered by the Township.
All collections and sales are performed by Simple Recycling. The Township will receive a very small portion ($20/ton rebate from the sales).
