Township and City of Houston Partnership Continues

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, approved a Third Amendment to the Regional Participation Agreement with the City of Houston that would reshape the longstanding agreement, address current priorities of both organizations and provide greater long-term financial and governance certainty for The Woodlands.

Township Election Filing Closed

Filing has ended for four (4) at-large positions on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors in the November 2026 election. The positions are designated as 1, 2, 3, and 4. Ballot order is set for the Township Board of Directors November Election.

August 21 Budget Workshop Canceled

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors has canceled the budget workshop scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026. A special Board meeting and public hearing will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, to adopt the 2027 Budget and approve the 2026 property tax rate.

Each village in The Woodlands has a volunteer Residential Design Review Committee (RDRC) of at least three elected members who serve one-year terms and represent residents in the design approval process.
