Streetlight repairs are not handled by The Woodlands Township. Depending on your service provider, you will need to report outages directly to either Entergy or CenterPoint Energy.
If your provider is Entergy:
Visit Entergy’s Streetlight Outage Reporting Tool.
Choose “Report a Lighting Issue” under the outage options.
Enter the nearest address to the location of the pole and a mapping feature will identify poles in the area.
Select the pole.
Complete the form with any additional details and submit.
If your provider is CenterPoint Energy:
Visit CenterPoint’s Online Streetlight Outage Map.
Use the map to identify the pole number using the online map. Zoom in and select the light that’s out, or enter the nearest address.
Click “Report this Light” and follow the prompts to confirm the outage.
Provide any additional information and submit the report.
If you're unsure which provider serves your area, enter your address in our Address Lookup tool to learn which provider services your neighborhood.
Both energy providers are in the process of converting existing streetlights to LED fixtures. The older-style bulbs and fixtures are no longer being manufactured and can no longer be repaired or replaced. To maintain reliable and safe lighting, the upgrade to LED is necessary.
Key points about the new lights:
Pole heights and fixture sizes will remain similar.
Light output (measured in footcandles) will be consistent with the previous high-pressure sodium (HPS) lights.
The light color will shift from yellow to white.
All fixtures meet dark sky compliance standards.
The Township appreciates your patience and understanding as utility providers work to improve lighting across the community.
