Economic Development

The Woodlands is a 28,500-acre award-winning master-planned community located 27 miles north of downtown Houston. The Woodlands Township collaborates with area partners, such as The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, to enhance economic development. Our initiatives focus on promoting the area as a prime destination for dining, entertainment, and shopping. We also emphasize business recruitment, retention, and job creation to boost the local economy.

Our Ad Hoc Economic Development Committee, formed by the Township Board, creates strategic plans to guide our economic efforts. The committee recommends objectives, determines funding levels, and suggests projects to be funded, ensuring a thriving business environment and community growth.
