Senior Transportation Services

While the Township does not directly operate demand response transportation services for our community’s senior population, we do partner with Interfaith of The Woodlands and Meals on Wheels – Montgomery County to provide service. Please see below for contact information as well as other senior transportation services available in The Woodlands area.

Non-Profit Transportation Options

Interfaith of The Woodlands

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency that provides demand-response transportation through volunteer drivers. This service is available to individuals 62 years and older who are enrolled in the program and reside in South Montgomery and Northern Harris Counties. Interfaith provides curb-to-curb, door-to-door round-trip transportation services to local health care appointments, grocery stores, and social activities. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Senior Rides

Meals on Wheels – Montgomery County is a non-profit, social service agency that provides demand-response transportation through its transit program, Senior Rides. The service is available to individuals 60 years and older or those with proof of disability from Social Security or a doctor. Senior Rides provides curb-to-curb service with no trip restrictions. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BrightStar Care Houston/The Woodlands

BrightStar Care Houston/The Woodlands is a public (Federal/HHS) agency that provides demand-response services to individuals 65 years and older, persons with disabilities, veterans, and the LEP population. The service area includes the City of Houston, Texas Medical Center, the City of Conroe-Woodlands area, and Northern Harris and Montgomery Counties. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare

Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare is a government agency that provides mental health services to adults and children along with services to individuals with developmental disabilities. These services include case management, medication management, skills training, and substance abuse treatment. Limited transportation is provided to clients as a last resort. Service areas include Liberty, Montgomery, and Walker Counties. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Precinct 3 Bus Program

Created in 1989 with a single 15-passenger van, Precinct 3’s Bus Program has grown to a fleet of 19 buses that provides opportunities for senior organizations and community groups to travel and enjoy Harris County and the surrounding areas for free.

Bryant Transportation is a private, for-profit agency that provides demand-response, ridesharing, and subscription services to individuals 65 years and older, persons with disabilities, children and youth, persons of low-income, and the general public. Their service area includes Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston, Montgomery, and Waller Counties. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Holidays, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
