What can you do to help find your bike if it’s stolen?

The bicycle registration program will record owner information, serial number and any unique characteristics of the bicycle which will then be securely stored in the department database. Take a few minutes to complete the short form to begin your registration today. You will receive a copy of your original report once it has been processed. Please keep a copy of this report for your records.

Remember, if your bicycle is ever stolen, it is important to report it to law enforcement.

Upcoming Blood Drives

The Woodlands Township offers free Curbside Address Paint Kits through the Neighborhood Services Department to help residents clearly mark their house number on the curb. Visible curbside numbers assist emergency responders and improve address identification. Each kit includes a stencil, paint and a brush—everything you need to complete the job yourself.

Stay connected and get involved with our upcoming events focused on public safety and community well-being. From crime prevention programs to neighborhood blood drives, the calendar highlights opportunities to learn, give back and strengthen your community. Check back often for new events and updates.

Each year in May and June, Neighborhood Services partners with The Woodlands Fire Department to host Fired Up Tours—fun, interactive events that give residents a behind-the-scenes look at local fire stations.

Families can explore fire trucks, meet firefighters and learn about emergency response in a hands-on setting. The tours help build connections between residents and first responders while promoting fire safety and emergency preparedness in a friendly, engaging way. Dates and locations are posted each spring on the Township calendar.

The Woodlands Township offers a free Key Tag Registration Program through the Neighborhood Services Department. Each key tag features a unique ID number and instructions to return found keys to the Township’s main office at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

If your keys are turned in, Township staff will use the ID number to contact you—ensuring your keys are returned without revealing personal information. This simple, secure program provides peace of mind and supports the spirit of community where neighbors look out for one another.

National Night Out in The Woodlands features a series of neighborhood block parties that bring neighbors together to promote community spirit and public safety. Registered neighborhoods may receive visits from law enforcement, fire crews and Township staff. Learn how to get involved and host your own neighborhood gathering.

This includes an annual preparedness event and seasonal outreach in partnership with the Communications Department, especially during hurricane season. The Woodlands Township is a registered provider of the Safe @ Home Program, a comprehensive safety education course designed for students in grades 4–6 who may stay home alone. The program teaches important skills related to indoor, outdoor, online and personal safety to help children feel more confident and prepared when home on their own. 

Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students also learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

The Woodlands Township offers several Neighborhood Watch programs designed to promote public safety, community connection and crime prevention through resident involvement.

Neighborhood Watch
The core of our watch programs, Neighborhood Watch is an ambassador-style initiative that encourages residents to get to know one another, stay informed and work together to support a safer community. Participants can serve as neighborhood watch captains, share public safety information, welcome new residents and assist with outreach events. It’s a simple, effective way to make a positive impact where you live.

Dog Walker Watch
Dog Walker Watch engages residents who regularly walk their dogs to serve as extra eyes and ears for law enforcement. This program trains dog walkers to recognize and report suspicious activity while out in their neighborhoods. It's an easy way to help keep your community safe—just by doing something you're already doing.

Vacation Watch
Vacation Watch is a service provided by local law enforcement that allows residents to request periodic checks on their home while they are out of town. This free program adds peace of mind while you’re away and is supported by both the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4.

Business Watch
Business Watch is a partnership between local businesses, law enforcement and community organizations that works to reduce crime through cooperation, education and shared awareness. Modeled after Neighborhood Watch, the program helps businesses within the Township take a proactive role in protecting their employees, customers and property through meetings and presentations tailored to their specific needs.

Together, these programs foster safer neighborhoods by empowering residents to stay connected, aware and proactive.

October is International Walk to School Month and The Woodlands Township encourages students and families to join in celebrating the many benefits of walking or biking to school. It’s a great opportunity to get active, enjoy the outdoors and build safe, healthy habits that last a lifetime.  

Games to Level Up your Walk

• Chalk the Walk – Use sidewalk chalk to decorate the pathways with school pride, positive messages and tips for pedestrian safety.
• Rock the Walk – Paint rocks to leave along pathways. Happy messages, safety tips and school spirit are encouraged.
• Take a Nature Selfie – Take a selfie with a favorite tree, flower or other natural discovery. Use a hashtag to share online such as #yourschoolWALKS ex: #RideWALKS, #DeretchinWALKS, #PowellWALKS
• Scavenger Hunt – Be interactive as you walk! Download and play the Scavenger Hunt Game!(PDF, 253KB)

Join your fellow students and families in their annual Walk to School Day event. The Walk to school program, facilitated by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department, promotes safe routes to schools combined with fun and fitness as part of the school day routine.
