As Chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, Brad Bailey brings a track record of service, leadership and a deeply rooted commitment to the community he calls home. After his initial election in November 2022 and subsequent reelection in November 2024, his fellow Board members elected him Chairman for 2025. Chairman Bailey has cultivated positive change through policies aimed at environmental stewardship, fiscal responsibility, infrastructure accessibility and stronger community ties. A longtime corporate development professional, he transitioned from running a network of family-owned restaurants to currently serving as Director of Government Affairs at Waste Connections, refining his ability to advocate for local interests and navigate complex policy environments.

During his tenure on the Board of Directors, Chairman Bailey played a pivotal role in moving The Woodlands Township forward on multiple fronts. Chairman Bailey spearheaded the Township’s first-ever Homestead Exemption for residents, delivering significant tax relief and helping to protect long-term housing affordability. He also championed a substantial reforestation initiative, allocating $1 million in 2024 and again in 2025 to plant thousands of new trees and preserve the community’s iconic natural environment. “We all realize that we need to preserve what has been left to our care,” said Chairman Bailey. “A livable forest and the country’s original live, work, play model.”

To strengthen The Woodlands’ voice in regional infrastructure planning, Chairman Bailey advocated for the Township to secure a seat on the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council. He also collaborated with local and state leaders to redirect a significant share of mixed beverage tax revenues back to the Township, bolstering its fiscal stability.

Dedicated to community well-being, Chairman Bailey has championed measures to expand law enforcement and uphold a high standard of public safety for all residents. In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Chairman Bailey rallied local stakeholders to hold critical utility services accountable, pushing for more reliable disaster responses and improved conditions for residents.

Chairman Brad Bailey served as Chair for the Board of Visit The Woodlands (VTW) for two years, where his leadership showcased The Woodlands’ unique blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, retail attractions and diverse dining options, ensuring its status as an outstanding place to live, work and visit. Reflecting on The Woodlands, Bailey shared, “What makes The Woodlands truly great is our people- our residents, our business owners, our philanthropists, our artists, our community leaders and our visitors. Now and for the past 50 years, we are a community that makes things happen.” Recently, Chairman Bailey was reappointed to the VTW Board for 2025, continuing his dedication to promoting the community. Additionally, Chairman Bailey serves on the Board of Directors of Angel Reach and is a member of George’s Coffee Club. He is a 2024 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.

Originally hailing from Nassau Bay, Texas, Bailey attended Kilgore College—where he was the Voice of the Kilgore College Rangerettes—Bailey then attended The University of Mississippi majoring in marketing and finance.
