Elections
The Woodlands Township holds two general elections each year. The Board of Directors Election is held in November each year and Directors are elected at large by residents who reside in both Montgomery and Harris counties. Residential Elections are held in February each year for the Residential Design Review Committees (RDRC) and the Village Associations.
Board of Directors Election
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors are elected at-large by residents to serve two-year terms. Board of Director Elections are held on Election Day which is observed on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November.

Residential Elections
Residential elections are held each February for the Residential Design Review Committees (RDRC) and Village Associations. Other Governmental Elections
In addition to the Township Board of Directors, voters in The Woodlands elect representatives to a variety of districts, agencies and governmental entities with jurisdiction in our community. These elections may be for federal, state and local (MUDs, College District, etc.) officials or measures. General elections are held on May and November Uniform Election Dates. Schedules for primaries and special elections follow a separate process. Check with your County Election Office or the entity calling the election for more details. Voter Registration
In Texas, voter registration is required to participate in elections, including those for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors and residential positions. To vote, you must be registered in the county where you live, and registration must be completed at least 30 days before Election Day. Being registered ensures your voice is heard in decisions that shape your community.

All political election signage must conform to The Woodlands Standards Section 2.10 (page 57) and Section 2.12 (page 58).
Distribution of Political Materials
Campaign material distribution in Township buildings is prohibited. If a Township facility is designated as a polling location, election and campaign-related activities are managed through the applicable County Election Administrator in accordance with state laws.
The Township's election policy (Resolution 012-13(PDF, 228KB)) states that the Township cannot and does not, directly or indirectly, endorse, promote or support, through in-kind services or otherwise, any specific candidate forum, candidate information exchange or similar activities through the use of Township resources.
