Township Board of Directors Holds Videoconference MeetingThe Woodlands Township Board of Directors approved a plan to open seven (7) swimming pools to start the summer based on the availability of lifeguards during its regular meeting via videoconference at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020. The implemented plan includes Alden Bridge, Sawmill, Creekwood, Forestgate, Bear Branch, Wendtwoods, and Harper’s Landing Pools.

Governor Abbott Proclamation: Additional Services and Activities That Can Open Under Phase II Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation expanding additional services and activities that can open under Phase II of the state’s plan to safely and strategically open. With this proclamation, water parks, recreational sport programs for adults, driver education programs, and food-court dining areas within shopping malls can begin operations with limited occupancy or regulations to protect the health and safety of Texans.

Montgomery County COVID-19 Case CountMontgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm the number of ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 has increased to 470 today. That number includes 27 hospitalizations. 444 people have fully recovered. The number of total positive cases has increased 14 since yesterday to 940.

The Village of Creekside Park is located in two zip codes: 77375 and 77389 and these also include Magnolia, Augusta Pines/Auburn Lakes/West Rayford Road in northwest Harris County. Today, Harris County is reporting zip code 77375 has 83 confirmed positive cases with 32 active cases and 77389 has 51 confirmed positive cases with 14 active cases.

Water bikes are being added to the many rental options already available at Riva Row, including single and tandem (or double) kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and swan pedal boats. Fourth of July Parade CancelledThe Township has learned that the South County 4th of July Committee and Market Street have announced the cancellation of the 44th Annual 4th of July Parade, "Stars & Stripes Forever" due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the potential of over 20,000 spectators and 200 volunteers gathering along the parade route through Town Center and Market Street, holding the parade would not be in the best interest of health and safety for the community.

The Woodlands Farmer’s Market Now Open Saturday Mornings from 8 a.m. to noonThe Woodlands Farmer’s Market re-opened May 23, 2020! Customers are encouraged to check the website, Facebook page or newsletter for definite details including phases in which the market will open, participating vendors, and best practices for visitors.
The market now has a different layout in order to promote social distancing for customers and vendors. Instead of having two aisles with the vendors facing each other, the vendors will be in a rectangle with the customers walking on the outside. There will be hand sanitizer stands and markers to help customers.
Open Stores at Market StreetSeveral retailers at Market Street are currently open, and more will be opening in the coming weeks. Market Street management notes that individual retailers may require a mask and additional safety requirements upon entry, so customers are encouraged to call ahead to verify hours and guidelines.
