Montgomery County Precinct 2

Montgomery County Precinct 2, led by Commissioner Charlie Riley, is dedicated to maintaining infrastructure, enhancing mobility, and supporting community services. The precinct manages road and bridge maintenance, mobility planning, parks and community centers, recycling services, and law enforcement support. Additionally, Precinct 2 coordinates storm debris removal to ensure public safety and efficient recovery after severe weather events. Through these efforts, the precinct works to provide a safe, well-connected, and thriving environment for residents.

Montgomery County Precinct 3, led by Commissioner Ritch Wheeler, provides essential services to enhance the community’s safety, mobility, and quality of life. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency for The Woodlands, providing patrol services, criminal investigations, and emergency response to ensure community safety. Led by Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, MCSO works closely with local officials and residents to prevent crime, enforce laws, and enhance public safety. The office also offers resources such as records requests, warrant searches, and inmate visitation. With dedicated patrol units serving The Woodlands, MCSO plays a critical role in maintaining a secure and thriving community.

Montgomery County Appraisal District

The Montgomery Central Appraisal District (MCAD) is responsible for appraising property within Montgomery County, Texas, to determine its value for taxation purposes. This includes identifying taxable property, assessing its appraised value, determining eligibility for exemptions, and establishing the taxable owner.

The Montgomery County Elections Office, led by Elections Administrator Suzie Harvey, oversees voter registration and election processes to ensure fair and accurate elections.

Montgomery County Animal Control

Montgomery County Animal Control, operating under the Montgomery County Animal Shelter (MCAS), is responsible for enforcing local animal ordinances, investigating animal cruelty cases, and managing rabies exposure incidents within Montgomery County, Texas. They ensure public safety and promote animal welfare through various services, including the enforcement of the Montgomery County Rabies Control and Animal Restraint Ordinance, as well as the Montgomery County Wild and Dangerous Animal Ordinance.

Appointments required to surrender a pet or come in for a wellness clinic visit. No appointment necessary to look for lost pets, adoption or foster services.

Montgomery County Mosquito Control

Montgomery County actively manages mosquito populations to protect public health through its Mosquito Control program. This initiative focuses on reducing mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile Virus by implementing integrated mosquito management strategies.

Key Components of the Program:
  • Surveillance and Testing: Regular trapping and testing of mosquitoes are conducted to monitor disease presence and mosquito activity.
  • Targeted Spraying: When necessary, the county performs spraying operations, primarily between dusk and dawn, to effectively reduce mosquito populations while minimizing impacts on beneficial insects like bees.
  • Public Education: Residents are encouraged to eliminate standing water, use insect repellent, and wear protective clothing to reduce mosquito breeding sites and personal exposure.

Office of Emergency Management

The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (MCOHSEM) is committed to preparing, safeguarding, and protecting the residents and property of Montgomery County from the effects of disasters through effective planning, preparation, response, and recovery activities.

  • Emergency Planning and Coordination: MHCOHSEM develops and maintains comprehensive emergency management plans, ensuring coordinated responses among various agencies during disasters.
  • Emergency Operations Center (EOC): The office activates and staffs the EOC to coordinate and support efforts during emergencies, facilitating efficient resource allocation and decision-making.
  • Public Outreach and Education: MCOHSEM delivers effective public outreach programs to educate residents on disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Training and Exercises: The office organizes training sessions, drills, and exercises to prepare emergency responders and the community for potential disasters.
  • Information Dissemination: MCOHSEM collects and provides critical information to elected officials, the media, residents, partners, and other stakeholders during emergencies.

Montgomery County Northstar

The Montgomery County Northstar Traffic Operations Center (NTOC), located in Conroe, Texas, is dedicated to monitoring and managing traffic flow within the region. Established in 2007 and operated by Montgomery County Precinct 3, the NTOC utilizes advanced technology, including approximately 90 traffic signals and 200 traffic cameras, to optimize traffic efficiency and enhance safety for residents and commuters.
