Yard Trimmings

Waste Management will collect yard trimmings on your scheduled pickup day. Please follow these guidelines for removal.

  • Curb by 7 a.m. on your service day.
  • At least 4 feet from 96-gallon carts.
  • No additional service tags are required.
  • Grass clippings, leaves and pruning's:
    • No petroleum-based plastic bags.
    • May be bagged in certified compostable bags that meet ASTM-6400 standards.
      Certified compostable, plant-based bags and Kraft (paper) bags are currently available at Kroger, H.E.B., Target, Ace Hardware and Walmart.
    • May be placed in an open container.
      32-gallon container, such as a traditional trash can (example below).
    • Weigh no more than 40 pounds.
  • Branches, tree limbs and trimmings:
    • No larger than 4 inches in diameter.
    • Trimmed to 4 feet in length.
    • Tied in bundles no higher than 4 feet in height.
    • May be placed in an open container.
    • Weigh no more than 40 pounds.
  • Shredded Paper
    • Plain, non-glossy shredded paper may be evenly mixed with leaves, placed in a certified compostable bag and included with weekly yard trimming set out.

If your yard waste does not comply with Waste Management's guidelines listed above, you may consider disposing of it at a local recycling facility.
