Residents Give Township High Rankings
The Woodlands Township recently completed its biennial survey of residents to gauge resident feedback on a wide range of Township services, programs and amenities. The survey is a vital tool for planning and budgeting purposes. It measures resident satisfaction, identifies community priorities and provides data that supports strategic planning, budgeting and policy decisions.
RANKINGS AND RESULTS
The 2026 survey results confirm that The Woodlands continues to deliver an exceptional quality of life and a high level of service to residents. Overall satisfaction remained strong across Township services, with The Woodlands Fire Department, Parks and Pathways and Trash and Recycling Collection ratings coming in at 98 up to 100% of respondents ranking the quality of Township services received as good or very good.
Other services ranking extremely high in quality were Swimming Pools and Spraygrounds, Town Center Trolleys, The Woodlands Express Bus Service, Recreation Centers, Neighborhood Services and Recreation Programs, all coming in with 95% or more of respondents ranking them as good or very good. Pathway, Median and Streetscape Maintenance, Neighborhood and Commercial Standards and Environmental Sustainability were all at 92% or more of respondents ranking them as good or very good.
The Woodlands Community Magazine continues to rate highly as the number one source to learn about activities, Township news and other important information in The Woodlands, including neighborhood and village news. Quality of Township Communications ranked 93% as good or very good.
In addition, 95% of respondents ranked the value of Township services overall as good or very good.

SURVEY FIRM AND BENCHMARKS
For the 2026 survey, the Township selected Polco and the National Research Center, nationally recognized leaders in civic engagement and community research. Polco's mission is to help local governments make informed decisions through meaningful public engagement and reliable data, ensuring resident feedback plays a central role in shaping community priorities.
The survey was conducted from April 15 to May 11, 2026, using a multi-contact approach (notification and reminder postcard) sent to a probability-based, mail-based sample of 10,000 households within The Woodlands. A total of 1,348 valid responses were received, indicating a 14% overall response rate and a 95% confidence interval with a +/- 3% margin of error.
Benchmark comparisons for the survey responses demonstrate that The Woodlands continues to outperform comparable communities across Texas and the nation. The Township received ratings that exceeded national benchmarks in 16 service areas and Texas benchmarks in 10 service areas, with no service areas rated below either comparison group.
CONTINUED COMMITMENT
Residents continue to identify the community's natural environment, parks, pathways, safety and overall character as the qualities they value most. The results reinforce the Township's long-standing commitment to providing exceptional services while preserving the features that make The Woodlands one of the most desirable communities in the country.
Overall, the 2026 Resident Survey affirms that residents remain highly satisfied with Township services and quality of life. The findings provide valuable insight to guide future decisions, prioritize resources and ensure the Township continues to meet the needs and expectations of the community.
