The Woodlands Township ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.79 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY BY $-1.80.

As part of this year’s National Night Out events throughout The Woodlands, residents are invited to cheer on their favorite public safety personnel on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and The Woodlands Fire Department will face off in a spirited softball game to celebrate friendly rivalry and our community’s support for local public safety personnel. The event, originally scheduled to take place at Alden Bridge Sports Park, will now be held at McCullough Junior High School (Scotland Yard Baseball Field), 3800 South Panther Creek Drive, due to ongoing park renovations.
This year’s event will feature a Kid Zone, concessions and the Hot Rods & Home Runs Car Display, featuring some of the best custom and classic cars in the county. Awards will be distributed onsite for Best of Show, Best Paint, Most Unique, Kids’ Choice, Best Truck and Best Import. Admission to the event is free.
The Boots vs. Badges Softball Game, coordinated by The Woodlands Township’s Neighborhood Services Department, gives the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and The Woodlands Fire Department the rare opportunity to go head-to-head and battle it out on the field for this year’s trophy. Guests can enjoy the fellow sportsmanship and spirited rivalry, and see who takes the title!
