In 2025, more than 2,600 volunteers gave their time to Environmental Services programs, contributing an incredible 11,747 hours of work. That effort translated into $408,504.18 in value for The Woodlands Township, based on the national volunteer hour rate. Adopt-A-Path
Support our pathways by adopting a one-mile stretch and committing to quarterly litter cleanups. Perfect for families, scouts, neighborhoods, and local organizations who want to protect our natural spaces all year long.

Watershed Project
Explore two ways to protect local waterways:

Storm Drain Surveying: Help us transition to a new storm drain mapping system by verifying which neighborhoods have marked drains. Work at your own pace by walking, biking, or driving your assigned areas.

Invasive Species Task Force
Protect native ecosystems by helping remove aggressive non-native plants like air potato, Japanese climbing fern, and elephant ears. Join our task force to learn proper removal techniques and take part in scheduled volunteer workdays.

Self-Guided Cleanups
Support a cleaner community by organizing a litter cleanup at a local park or green space. We’ll work with you to choose a suitable location and provide all necessary equipment, including litter grabbers, safety vests, gloves, and trash bags.
Litter Audit
Collect litter and then sort and record what you found with the guidance of an Environmental Education Coordinator. Data is submitted to Keep Texas Beautiful to support statewide messaging and litter reduction strategies. Includes a brief sustainability lesson with staff.
